Responsible Sourcing Senior Project Manager - Precious Metals
Context
Based in Bellevue, the Responsible Sourcing Precious Metals Senior Project Manager will support the deployment of the Responsible Sourcing program for precious metals, through the following elements:
Supply Chain risk profile, based on Environmental, Social, Governance - "ESG" - criteria
Risk mapping - suppliers’ activities, subcontractors and more generally of any supply chain stakeholders up to the raw material sources
Continuous evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors in coordination with our Maisons and Manufacturing Competence Centers
Risk mitigation actions
Escalation and reporting mechanisms
The mission is to enhance, implement and manage the precious metal supply chain network and tools to support Varinor and Maisons to mitigate ESG and compliance risks. He/She will be a key partner of Varinor, the Group’s own Swiss-based precious metal foundry and refinery centralising its fine gold procurement. He/She will be also driving sourcing intelligence activities. In addition, he/she will support the Group Head of Precious materials in building a resilient responsible sourcing management system to answer the requirements of Swiss and transnational sustainability regulations.
How will you make an impact?
Precious metals Supply chain mapping & risk assessment
Implement the OECD’s five-step framework for risk-based due diligence in precious metals supply chain, focus critical on gold
Build and maintain the supply chain database including all suppliers and raw materials due diligence related information
Complete due diligence and analyse risk for refining partners and stakeholders
Collaborate and share expertise with the Environment Responsible Sourcing team to enhance emission factors data
Stakeholders’ management
Support Varinor in evaluating and selecting new gold sourcing sources
Conduct tailored audits at all tier levels within gold supply chain
Monitor stakeholders performance against ESG metrics and metals KPIs on a regular basis
Compliance & Certification Management
Define and monitor ad hoc due diligence exercise and ensure compliance with topic-related Swiss and transnational sustainability regulations as a priority
Work in collaboration with the RJC and Training Project Manager in implementing RJC certifications and guidelines across precious metals supply chain
Conduct internal audits and gap analyses against industry standards when required
Animate the supply chain communities
Support the Head of Precious Materials in the preparation in the Gold Committee, and escalation if required
Organize periodic meetings with Varinor, Maisons, MCC and other relevant stakeholders to update strategies and communicate about risks evolution, audit results, and ongoing actions
Prepare meetings minutes and provide supports to presentations
How will you experience success with us?
7-10 years experience with proven project management and analytical skills
Curiosity, rigor, anticipation and reliability
Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a cross-functional setting
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good knowledge of the Group and the Maisons or the gold industry is a plus
Fluency in French and English
Readiness to travel frequently within Europe and occasionally at international level
