Celonic is a “Pure Play” Biologics Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). Our mission is to help our customers, primarily small to large Biotech Companies, bring life- saving and improving drugs effectively to the market using innovative, “next generation” bioprocessing technologies. Celonic has a state-of-the-art Biologics Development Center in Basel, Switzerland (headquarters), and clinical and commercial GMP manufacturing facilities in Heidelberg, Germany. THE POSITION
The Analytical Scientist position focuses on the timely development and optimization of analytical methods, with a strong emphasis on capillary electrophoresis (CE), to support the characterization of biologics and deliver high-quality results across a range of customer projects.
In this role, you will collaborate with many colleagues within the Analytical Services and across the multi-cultural teams of Celonic, contributing to the development of robust analytical strategies, and playing a key role in executing routine activities while solving complex technical challenges. You will also provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for the execution of analytical methods within the Scientists’ core expertise, including data evaluation, interpretation and reporting (e.g. LIMS)
* Agile and innovative mindset applying critical thinking to results in the context of reference samples and the wider process.
* Support or lead development of methods based on core expertise
* Support the organization of analysis planning and the working to agreed schedules
* Ensure analytics are executed at the highest quality and customer satisfaction within the agreed timeline.
* Support in transfer/handover of analytical methods to GMP Quality Control incl. validations
* Capable of working autonomously and self-disciplined to meet timelines.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Master’s degree in engineering / life sciences related field, PhD preferred
* 4 years of experience in Biotech, Pharma, CRO or CDMO with preference given to experience in analytical services for a development organization or CDMO
* Proven technical experience in capillary electrophoresis (optimally Maurice System).
* Experience in or knowledge of method development principles are desirable
* Demonstrated hands-on experience in additional analytical methods desirable
* Demonstrated experience in working autonomously and self-discipline to meet timelines.
* Flexible and solution-focused mindset with strong operational, organizational, and documentation skills
* Confident in the use of the English language (German is a plus)
