Description du poste
Il s’agit d’un poste hospitalo-universitaire de médecin-chef-fe du Service de chirurgie de l’enfant et de l’adolescent, incluant une fraction de poste professoral. Ce poste est rattaché au Département hospitalier de la femme, de l’enfant et de l’adolescent et au Département académique de pédiatrie, gynécologie et obstétrique.
Le-la candidat-e doit répondre d’une grande expérience clinique en chirurgie pédiatrique ainsi que de qualités reconnues de gestion, de communication et de leadership, pour diriger un service clinique universitaire ayant une forte activité chirurgicale. Par son action, le-la candidat-e supervisera, organisera et développera l’activité au sein de son service qui est composé de deux grandes unités, l’unité de chirurgie pédiatrique et l’unité d’orthopédie et de traumatologie pédiatriques ainsi que d’un l’hôpital de jour pour de la chirurgie ambulatoire. Il-Elle devra maintenir un haut niveau de compétence en chirurgie pédiatrique et assurer le maintien des centres de référence rattachés au Service (chirurgie mini-invasive des scolioses, centre suisse du foie de l’enfant) ou des domaines de la médecine hautement spécialisée attribués aux HUG (chirurgie complexe du pancréas, du foie et des voies biliaires, transplantations hépatiques, blessures graves et polytraumatismes, oncologie pédiatrique chirurgicale). Il-elle devra également renforcer les collaborations existantes avec le Département de la femme, de l’enfant de de l’adolescent ainsi que les autres Départements des HUG.
L’aptitude à diriger des recherches de haut niveau dans le domaine de la chirurgie pédiatrique est requise, ainsi que des compétences reconnues de mentorat, de management d’équipe et d’enseignement aux niveaux pré-grade et post-grade.
Titre et compétences exigés
Doctorat en médecine et spécialisation en chirurgie pédiatrique ou titres jugés équivalents.
Expérience pertinente de direction de recherches et d’enseignement.
Publications dans des revues internationales majeures.

Job Description
CHARGE: This is a joint University Hospital and Faculty position as Head of the Division of child and adolescent surgery including a part-time appointment as professor. The position is attached to the hospital Department of women, children and adolescent and to the academic Department of paediatrics, gynaecology and obstetrics.
The candidate should have an excellent clinical track record in pediatric surgery and outstanding leadership, communication and managerial skills to lead a university clinical division with a strong surgical activity. Through his/her action, the candidate will supervise, organize and develop the activity within his/her division in order to maintain the high level of surgical competence in the two units of the division (pediatric surgery unit, pediatric orthopedics and traumatology unit) but also to the day hospital for outpatient surgery. He/she will have to maintain a high level of competence in the reference centres attached to the division (minimally invasive scoliosis surgery, Swiss pediatric liver centre) or the areas of highly specialized medicine assigned to the HUG (complex surgery of the pancreas, liver and biliary tract, liver transplants, serious injuries and multiple trauma, pediatric surgical oncology). In addition, he/she will have to strengthen existing collaborations with the Department of the women, children and adolescent and other hospital Departments.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to conduct high-level research and have proven competence in team management, mentoring and medical education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Titles And Qualifications Required
MD title and board certification in pediatric surgery, or equivalent, are required.
Good knowledge of French.
Relevant experience as an independent investigator and teacher.
Publications in leading peer-reviewed journals.
