Overview ANAVIA specializes in the design, development & manufacturing of vertical take-off & landing (VTOL) systems of up to 500 kilograms. The company offers industry leading unmanned helicopter systems for various mission profiles, such as Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Inspection or Mapping & Cargo.
We are seeking a Flight Mechanics Engineer who will be responsible for developing and maintaining dynamic models of UAV rotorcraft, supporting flight control development, and contributing to system-level analysis of stability, performance, and handling qualities. This position is ideal for engineers with a strong foundation in flight dynamics who want to contribute to real aircraft development and testing.
Responsibilities Develop and maintain 6-DOF flight dynamics models for UAV rotorcraft.
Support stability and control analysis across the full flight envelope.
Contribute to control law development and autopilot tuning by supplying simulation models and flight dynamics insights.
Analyze flight test data to validate simulation models and identify improvement areas.
Define and assess aircraft stability margins, dynamic responses, and trim conditions.
Collaborate with avionics, control systems, and systems engineering teams.
Prepare and document technical reports, model assumptions, and analysis results.
Participate in the definition of flight test instrumentation and data analysis for model correlation.
Qualifications MSc in Aerospace Engineering or a related field, with a focus on flight dynamics, control, or vehicle simulation.
Experience with flight simulation environments and tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Flightlab, etc.).
Strong understanding of flight mechanics, control theory, and stability analysis.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Hands-on experience with flight test data processing or autopilot integration is a plus.
