We are seeking an experienced and results-driven HVAC Engineer (Contractor) to support capital and retrofit projects in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical/biotech facility. The role focuses on HVAC system design, upgrade, commissioning, and validation, ensuring all work aligns with industry regulations and quality standards.

Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Key Responsibilities:
Project Support
* Assist with or lead HVAC design for cleanrooms, labs, and controlled areas as part of facility expansions or retrofits.
* Review and provide technical input on contractor submittals, vendor documents, and construction drawings.
* Conduct on-site inspections to oversee HVAC installations and ensure work is performed according to design and regulatory requirements.
Compliance & Validation
* Support HVAC commissioning and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), including writing and executing protocols.
* Ensure system designs comply with FDA, EU GMP Annex 1, ISO 14644, and company-specific quality standards.
* Provide documentation for regulatory and client audits, including deviation investigations and CAPAs.
Technical Delivery
* Support BMS/EMS integration and system performance testing.
* Troubleshoot HVAC system issues related to airflow, pressure differentials, temperature, and humidity control.
* Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and equipment vendors.
Qualifications:
Education & Certifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related discipline.
* HVAC-related certification or licensure preferred (e.g., LEED AP, PE license, etc.).
Experience
* 5+ years of HVAC engineering experience, with at least 3 years in pharma/biotech or other regulated environments.
* Strong understanding of cleanroom HVAC, classified space requirements, and GMP facility standards.
* Proven experience supporting or leading HVAC commissioning and validation efforts.
Skills
* Proficient in technical drawing and design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or HAP.
* Familiar with ASHRAE standards, GAMP, and ISPE HVAC guidance documents.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
