We develop, design, manufacture, and test Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for demanding applications in Sensing, Connectivity, and Computing.
Building on our leadership in low-loss SiN photonics, LIGENTEC is expanding its technology offering to include SOI silicon photonics with pathways for heterogeneous integration. You are about to seize a unique opportunity to transition a cutting edge technology into tangible products. To accelerate our market entry and adoption of SOI technology, we are looking for an experienced and highly connected Senior Business Developer Silicon Photonics with a strong background in the Silicon Photonics ecosystem.
Tasks
Your responsibilities:
Customer Acquisition & Sales Excellence
* Identify and proactively reach out to and engage with major, strategic customers across diverse sectors (e.g., Telecom, Datacom, Sensing).
* Drive the entire sales lifecycle, from initial contact and technical discussion through negotiation and contract closing, excelling in developing and driving the business forward.
* Cultivating positive and close customer relationships
* Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations and proposals that clearly articulate the value proposition of LIGENTEC's solutions.
* Manage and nurture a pipeline of opportunities, consistently meeting sales targets.
Market & Brand Development
* Identify, analyze, and track market trends, competitive landscapes, and new application areas relevant to our offering.
* Develop and elevate the LIGENTEC brand within the global photonics ecosystem, ensuring market recognition for our cutting-edge technology and expertise.
* Represent LIGENTEC at key industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to build strategic relationships.
Requirements
Strategy & Collaboration
* Collaborate closely with the Technical/R&D team to translate customer needs into product and service requirements and vice versa.
* Provide actionable insights on applications, segments, and market evolution to shape LIGENTEC's strategic direction and product roadmap.
* Identify funding opportunities and assess the fit with the company's roadmap.
Qualifications & Technical Knowledge
* 5+ years of technical knowledge in integrated photonics is essential to effectively communicate with highly technical customers.
* Proven track record in business development, sales, or technical account management, preferably within a high-tech or B2B environment.
Skills & Competencies
* Existing network in telecom/datacom, optical communications, silicon photonics, or related verticals is a strong advantage
* Good Sales Orientation: Highly results-driven, persistent, and adept at identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
* Good Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear business value. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a plus
* Business Acumen: Strong understanding of market dynamics, commercial principles, and the ability to structure complex deals and partnerships.
* A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a small, agile team.
