Opportunity
We're looking for ambitious students to join our 2026 Off‑cycle Internship Program within our IB COO team.
Your tasks
Learn to perform Key Procedural Controls and oversee, and monitor the delivery of the front‑to‑back control environment by championing best practice for controls design and operating effectiveness.
Prepare concise, transparent, and meaningful risk reporting to management.
Gain an understanding of the operational risk landscape of the IB UGM teams and advise and provide valuable guidance and support to the business in implementing sustainable and timely remediation strategies.
Join forces with the global IB BRM and IB UGM COO teams, collaborating on a range of day‑to‑day tasks.
Your team
You’ll be working in the IB UGM COO team in Opfikon near Zurich. As part of the IB’s first line of defense, our team plays a crucial role in supporting UGM within IB Global Markets by effectively managing operational risks. Our mission involves establishing and upholding an operational risk framework to oversee the UGM risk landscape. The team consistently assesses and manages all areas of risk, identifies and prioritises gaps, and provides a basis for evidencing effective and compliant principles and practices. Collaboration is key, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with global colleagues from IB BRM, COO, and the Business to ensure that best practices are being shared around the regions and globe, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Your expertise
Completed a minimum of 4 semesters towards a bachelor's degree, with graduation no more than six months ago (bachelor’s or master’s degree).
Possesses proficiency in English language, both written and oral.
Demonstrates an interest in thriving in a fast‑paced international work environment as a collaborative team member.
Possesses strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Exhibits excellent communication skills and is adept at engaging with colleagues across all organisational levels.
Displays an autonomous, diligent, and detail‑oriented work approach to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
Demonstrates sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential information.
