This role is a 1-year contract and is a hybrid opportunity, requiring 3 days onsite at our corporate office in Rolle, CH.

Your Mission
As our Senior NGS Bioinformatician, you will lead data exploration efforts to address practical questions during product development. You will work with diverse datasets varying by gene panel, sample type, enrichment technology, and sequencing platform. Your work will involve assessing NGS kit and chemistry performance, evaluating analytical accuracy of SOPHiA GENETICS products, and conducting in-depth, product-focused analyses. Your insights will directly influence our product evolution, including proposing and implementing improvements to probe design, analytical tools, and pipeline architecture.
The Value You Bring
* Run SOPHiA GENETICS NGS pipelines in default mode
* Manually modify scripts/modules for research purposes
* Understand functions of each script/module in SG pipeline
* Perform quality assessment and analytical performance evaluations
* Conduct data exploration to answer practical questions related to product feasibility
* Explore new technical/biological features (e.g., UMI diversity) for scientific insights
* Analyze datasets from collaborators and provide timely exploration results
* Participate in discussions with collaborators and present results
* Prepare analysis results for presentation to customers and at conferences
Requirements
* Minimum of 4 years Post-Doc experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field; or PhD with relevant experience
* Extensive experience with targeted sequencing data analysis
* Hands-on experience analyzing NGS data
* Experience with regulated medical device research, design, or development is a plus
* Strong background in cancer cell biology is a plus
* Excellent communication and presentation skills; English required, additional languages are assets
