The opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Procurement Team Lead to join our fast-paced service organization at Hitachi, Ltd., where speed and quality are paramount. In this key leadership role, you will drive strategic sourcing initiatives, optimize procurement operations, and lead a talented team of approximately 12 procurement professionals. Your expertise will ensure the rapid and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, all while upholding the highest standards of quality and fostering strong, collaborative supplier relationships.

1. Ready to lead and inspire a high-performing Procurement team? Drive innovation and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
2. Own procurement strategies that focus on on-time delivery, quality improvement, supply chain efficiency, and cost reduction. Apply critical path methodology to minimize delays and ensure customer satisfaction.
3. Champion end-to-end procurement excellence, ensuring process discipline and transparency throughout.
4. Optimize operational procurement processes and advance our systems for greater efficiency.
5. Lead supplier management—segmentation, selection, qualification, contract negotiations, and strategic partnerships. Establish and drive supplier performance frameworks with KPIs, scorecards, and reviews.
6. Present key reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier outcomes to senior leaders.
7. Manage procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions, price volatility, and compliance issues.
8. Ensure ethical purchasing and corporate social responsibility across all activities.
Your background
9. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or a completed vocational training with relevant professional experience.
10. 5 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management or at least 3 years in a leadership position within in a related business.
11. Proven track record of successful strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supplier or customer relationship management is a plus
12. Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract law, and supply chain principles.
13. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
14. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
15. Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
16. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities.
17. Experience in the manufacturing, technology, or industrial sectors is highly desirable.
