About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern within the Culinary department, the Commis de Cuisine assists the Head Chef to supervise and run all sections in the kitchen. The role reports to the Head Chef and Executive Chef.
Responsibilities (English)
* Preparing and serving high quality food.
* Preparing and following up on events.
* Supporting the Kitchen Team, ensuring smooth work processes during a shift.
* Compliance with all guidelines and proper storage of all foodstuff.
* Compliance and control with the specified stock levels and ensuring proper storage.
Aufgaben (German)
* Vor- und Zubereitung von hochwertigen Speisen.
* Mithilfe bei Vor- und Nachbereitungen von Veranstaltungen.
* Unterstützung des Küchenteams für die Sicherstellung reibungsloser Arbeitsabläufe in einer Schicht.
* Einhaltung aller Richtlinien sowie sachgemässe Lagerung aller Lebensmittel.
* Einhaltung und tägliche Kontrolle der Hygienevorschriften und der Sauberkeit im Rahmen der HACCP‑Richtlinien.
Qualifications (English)
* A completed apprenticeship as a cook.
* Flexibility and ability to work under pressure – weekend and holiday shifts included.
* Good communication skills, teamwork, reliability and a passion for cooking.
* High level of commitment and high quality awareness.
* Very good knowledge of German and English; further foreign language skills are an advantage.
Qualifikationen (German)
* Eine abgeschlossene Ausbildung als Koch/Köchin.
* Flexibilität und Belastbarkeit – Wochenend‑ und Feiertagsschichten sind Teil der Position.
* Gute Kommunikationsfähigkeit, Teamfähigkeit, Zuverlässigkeit sowie Kochbegeisterung.
* Hohes Engagement und Qualitätsbewusstsein.
* Sehr gute Deutsch‑ und Englischkenntnisse, weitere Fremdsprachenkenntnisse sind von Vorteil.
