Reporting to the Vice President, R&D Finance and Business Planning & Evaluation, as the Director, Finance BP - Alliances & Post Deal Management, you will manage external strategic alliances driven through business development and licensing activities. Your role involves providing financial support during negotiations and managing financial aspects post-deal. This position offers an opportunity to expand in a strategic area, with exposure to senior management, and is a hybrid role with both onsite and remote work.Your key relationships include:Executive Director, Head of Alliance Management (+Alliance Management Team)VP, Global Head of LicensingVP, Global Head of Business DevelopmentVP, Head of Controlling & Reporting, and tax (and team)Senior Director, Finance Business Partner Late-Stage DevelopmentSenior Director, Finance business planning and evaluation (and team)Heads of finance for CSL’s operating segments (CSL Behring, CSL Seqirus, CSL Vifor)The Role:Build relationships with R&D Leadership, Business Development, Alliance Management, and external finance partners.Lead R&D Finance Business Partnering for CSL Alliance assets, supporting CSL’s financial responsibilities.Manage CSL’s Quarterly Post Deal Management governance process, ensuring accurate management information.Implement processes to track financial obligations and maintain a database of rights/obligations, supporting cashflow and reporting.Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to ensure financial governance, effective relationship management, and support for negotiations and contract reviews.Develop and improve processes for Alliance Management and Finance capabilities.Coordinate with various stakeholders on financial obligations, disclosures, and financial modelling of deals.Other core activities include:Support quarterly forecasts and annual planning with insights on alliance dynamics.Lead financial planning and reporting for CSL Alliances.Drive insights during deal processes and keep leadership informed of developments.Collaborate on managing financial obligations, reporting, and strategic decision-making.Develop best practices in finance capabilities aligned with CSL’s strategy.Support complex business case development and modelling for senior leaders.Your Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or related; MBA or advanced degree preferred; CPA/CA/CMA desirable.10+ years in finance, with experience in business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, alliance finance, or portfolio finance, especially in Pharma R&D or similar industries.Leadership experience with teams and influencing cross-functional teams.Expertise in financial modelling, M&A finance, deal support, and BD negotiations is advantageous.Strong interpersonal, judgment, influence, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to work globally and cross-functionally.CSL offers benefits from day 1 for employees working at least 30 hours/week, supporting wellbeing, health care, financial protection, and more.
