Overview Research Associate I
Vivtex develops better and safer oral therapeutics in close collaboration with major global pharmaceutical companies. The company originated as a MIT spin off based on a high throughput screening technology that uses fully intact and functional GI tissue. The company maintains a strong link with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well its founders: Prof. Robert Langer (Chairman of the Board), Prof. Gio Traverso (Board Member). Vivtex recently established a subsidiary in Switzerland with the aim to expand our global drug development partnership activities. Our Swiss Subsidiary is being run by the Vivtex core management team physically present in Switzerland aiming to rapidly expand and grow.
Job Description We are currently seeking a highly motivated, driven, and collaborative Research Associate with background in chemistry or related fields to contribute to the company’s R&D program. The chosen candidate must possess an outstanding track record that demonstrates a proven ability to drive research progress, including the ability to independently design, implement, and troubleshoot experiments and effectively present results and research plans.
Responsibilities Generate oral drug formulations for testing.
Conduct and document complex high throughput screening experiments.
Operate high throughput equipment such as liquid handlers.
Scientific writing and presentation.
Maintain a clean and functional lab.
Required Qualifications B.S./M.S. in Chemistry or related field. Candidates with a Ph.D. will not be considered for this position.
Previous relevant wet-lab research experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Highly collaborative and self-driven.
Additionally desired but not essential qualifications Expertise in oral drug delivery.
Experience in using R, Python or other relevant applications for data analysis.
Previous experience in various biological techniques.
Experience in high throughput screening.
Location and work setup The position is based in Schlieren, Switzerland. Candidates are expected to be onsite but there is flexibility to work from home occasionally. As part of an international team, the working language is English, therefore, strong written and spoken English skills are essential.
