Organization and context
Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations. IOM works with governments and partners to promote humane and orderly migration. Applications are welcome from first- and second-tier candidates, with emphasis on qualified female candidates and candidates from non-represented member states.
Responsibilities
* Lead the planning and implementation of Migration and Displacement Data and Research Analytics activities and manage the Division’s human and financial resources.
* Provide expert advice to the Senior Leadership Team, Departments and Regional and Country Offices on migration and displacement data and analytics at the global level.
* Guide the development of analytics, methods, and outputs for global leverage, coordinating with DRDOs and RDHs to ensure a coherent approach.
* Supervise global analytical efforts using advanced data science and multiple data sources to produce high-quality analytics outputs.
* Ensure collaboration between the Division and the Department of Humanitarian Response and Recovery to support organizational goals.
* Oversee the delivery of Migration Research and Analysis Insight Briefs for senior managers and external audiences, including briefings and publications.
* Represent the Organization in external data and research events and coordinate IOM expertise in migration and displacement data and research.
* Lead and support resource mobilization for Division projects and initiatives.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and experience
* Master's Degree in Political Science, International Relations, Social Sciences or related field with ten years of relevant experience; or a university degree with twelve years of relevant experience.
* At least ten years of professional experience in migration with a proven track record leading technical data and research teams.
* Experience in project development with data/research components, fundraising, and partnership building.
* Expertise in international migration, displacement policy, and linkages with development strategies.
* Experience presenting analytical outputs to governmental, academic, diplomatic authorities and international institutions; substantial publication record in migration data and research.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues to diverse audiences and to work effectively in a multicultural team.

Languages
English required (oral and written); knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage. Language proficiency will be evaluated during the selection process.
