Role
As a DeltaV Automation Architect, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, and technical leadership of automation solutions based on Emerson’s DeltaV platform. You will define system architecture, guide implementation teams, and ensure alignment with business, regulatory, and operational requirements. This strategic role bridges engineering, IT, and quality, and plays a key part in digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and document automation architecture using DeltaV for greenfield and brownfield projects
* Lead the design of control strategies, batch processes (S88), and system integration
* Coordinate implementation across internal teams and external partners
* Ensure alignment with GAMP5, GxP, and data integrity standards
* Oversee FAT/SAT, commissioning, and qualification activities
* Act as technical authority during project lifecycle, from concept to handover
* Support automation roadmap development and technology selection
* Provide mentorship and guidance to automation engineers and developers
Your Skills And Experience
* 10+ years of experience with Emerson DeltaV systems, including architecture and design
* Strong expertise in batch automation, S88, and regulated manufacturing environments
* Proven experience in leading automation projects in the life sciences sector
* Deep understanding of validation, compliance, and documentation standards
* Fluent in English; German and/or French are a strong asset
* Experience with integration to MES, historians (e.g., PI), and ERP systems
* Familiarity with cybersecurity and network architecture in OT environments is a plus
