Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for the repair and overhaul of industrial gas turbines, power turbines and associated accessories and equipment.
Responsibilities
* The duties involved include but are not limited to: Maintaining standards of engineering, appearance, timekeeping, discipline and housekeeping.
* The receipt, bulk strip, detail strip, sub assembly and final build of industrial gas turbines and power turbines.
* Training of internal employees.
* Adherence to and completion of all procedures and documentation controlling the overhaul process.
* Accurate recording of all critical fits/clearances.
* Highlighting and reporting of critical out-of-tolerance measurements and other non-conforming issues such as damaged or inadequately overhauled components.
* Safe and correct use of all equipment and specialised tooling, including engine tooling, stored and maintained correctly and reporting of any defective or missing equipment to supervising staff.
To succeed in this role, you will need
Education requirements (desirable):
* ITI, SVQ Graduate (or equivalent) – At least 6 years’ experience of overhauling and repairing gas turbines
* Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
Knowledge requirements (professional, technical, language, safety):
* Knowledge of gas turbine repair and refurbishment would be advantageous
* Experience working as a senior workshop member in a fabrication, repair or construction environment
Competencies and behaviour required:
* Good written and verbal communication (English).
* Good organisational skills.
* Adaptable approach, able to work independently, and function effectively as part of a team.
* Strong team player capable of working across various departments and with external stakeholders.
