Overview
As an Ocean Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and timely import & export of shipments for our valued customers. This position offers a dynamic blend of operational responsibility, customer interaction, and compliance expertise in a fast-paced, international environment.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and ensure timely import & export shipment processing
* Optimize and document operational procedures and workflows
* Provide expert support and consultation to customers
* Manage customs clearance and related documentation
* Communicate with customers, agents, and service providers
* Prepare and follow up on quotations; conduct sales negotiations
* Process and secure customer invoices
* Monitor deadlines and ensure accurate invoicing
* Prepare Letters of Credit, Bills of Lading, delivery notes, customs documents, etc.
* Handle Dangerous Goods shipments in full compliance with applicable regulations
Qualifications
* Completed commercial apprenticeship in international forwarding, Education in business administration
* 2 - 4 years of professional experience in international freight forwarding with ocean freight
* Fluent Germany and English (spoken and written); additional European languages are a plus
* Quick comprehension and a precise, reliable working style
* Independent, efficient, and accurate work ethic
* Enthusiastic team player with a proactive mindset
