As Project Manager Factory Investments, you will take the lead in multi‑million, high‑impact CAPEX projects, focused on factory optimisation and the implementation of cutting‑edge manufacturing technologies. You will play a key role in developing our production sites in Switzerland and abroad, driving advancements in automation, digitalisation, and operational excellence within a high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing set‑up. With your profound project management expertise, entrepreneurial mindset, strong result orientation, and technical know‑how, you will guide cross‑functional project teams through the entire project lifecycle—from concept to handover—ensuring high‑quality, on‑time, and on‑budget execution. You will join the Value Chain organization in Baden, reporting to the Teamlead Value Chain Investments, and work closely with factory leadership and technical experts across our global value chain.
Your responsibilities
* Lead complex factory optimisation and investment projects (CAPEX 2–10 M CHF), ensuring timely, cost‑effective, and high‑quality execution.
* Develop and apply deep expertise in production processes to drive innovation, automation, and digitalisation—striking the right balance between productivity and operational stability.
* Manage global, cross‑functional teams through all project stages, including initiation, analysis, concept development, implementation and final handover.
* Build and manage high‑performance project teams, set up effective governance structures and coordinate work packages efficiently.
* Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders—ensuring strong customer focus, continuous dialogue and service excellence.
* Develop relationships with external partners, such as suppliers, universities, and technology providers to support project success.
* Proactively identify, assess, and recommend emerging technologies and innovative processes to enhance factory operations.
* Promote knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices across the company; continually improve project management techniques and tools.
Your background
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Automation, Production Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
* >3 years of proven project management experience leading complex CAPEX projects with a solid understanding of lean manufacturing and -management principles.
* Hands‑on experience in the machinery or metal manufacturing industry, ideally with implementation of advanced technologies (e.g., metal cutting technologies like milling, grinding, etc.).
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders at all organisational levels.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic, results‑driven approach.
* Strong financial literacy to evaluate data and build sound business cases for investments.
* Analytical thinker with strong conceptual skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently and find solutions.
* Team player with high level of motivation, curiosity and a drive to continuously learn and improve.
* Fluent in both English and German (written and spoken).
