Kids Club Paraprofessional – Before and After School Program
Position: Paraprofessional – Before and/or After School
Location: Varies – 16 Elementary Schools
Hours per day: Monday‑Friday
Start and end times:
Before School (AM) shifts: 6:30‑9:15 a.m. (average 1–2 hours). After School (PM) shifts: 2:00‑6:00 p.m. (average 1.5–3 hours). PLUS varying hours on non‑school days.
Starting base pay: $21.50 per hour. Possible additional $.50 per hour once Highly Qualified status achieved.
Anticipated start date: August 25, 2025. Availability for application until April 2, 2025.
Notes: Eligible for retention bonus. Candidates may combine before/after school positions and/or midday assignments to increase daily hours. Positions follow school calendar; candidates must be available for varying hours on non‑school days. Summer paraprofessional positions also available.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting one or more Kids Club (KC) Supervisors in providing instructional and supervisory support to students enrolled in the School Age Child Care program and other Out‑of‑School Time (OST) programs. The paraprofessional assists with implementing lesson plans, set‑up and prep work for activities, participates in activities and develops positive relationships with children, staff, and parents within the program.
Primary Job Functions
Facilitate and assist Kids Club supervisors with implementation of lesson plans as outlined in state and program guidelines.
Independent and active participation in all program activities and events.
Work with team to develop children’s mental, physical, social, and emotional abilities and address student needs promptly.
Support and maintain safety and security of children in the program and complete required documentation.
Model appropriate behavior and implement strategies to guide children in developing positive relationships.
Comply with district and KC policies, including emergency procedures, confidentiality, reporting, and inclusion practices.
Prepare equipment and materials and arrange program areas; assist in serving meals and snacks.
Maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families, and staff.
Participate in staff development activities and meetings as required.
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, respect, and equity for all.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Competencies required by State of Minnesota, Federal government, or District 833.
Proven teamwork, confidentiality, professionalism, and communication skills.
Ability to provide services to students as directed by supervisor and adapt to new responsibilities.
Model appropriate behavior, neat appearance, and proper grammar in a learning environment.
Participation in district‑sponsored training when offered.
Basic computer skills: email, Microsoft Word, internet navigation.
Pass Paraprofessional fitness‑for‑duty tests.
Lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
Reliable attendance.
Positive, responsive communication with students, parents, coworkers, supervisors, and community.
Demonstrated appreciation of diversity in all interactions.
Desired Qualifications
Training and experience with behavioral management techniques.
First Aid/CPR certification (current or within three months of hire).
Sixty hours of relevant childcare training.
1,040 hours of previous experience working with children or in a childcare setting.
Knowledge of basic academics and behavioral characteristics of elementary students.
