Join to apply for the Development Engineer - Advanced sensing role at VAT GROUP .
VAT is the globally leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance vacuum valves, multi-valve units, vacuum modules, and edge-welded metal bellows.
Responsibilities The manufacturing of a high-end microchip requires over 1000 production steps. Vacuum valves are critical components, impacting process performance near the semiconductor wafer. Semiconductor fabs like Intel, Samsung, or TSMC aim to improve productivity and yield by utilizing data generated during manufacturing. Smart, connected vacuum components are essential for predictive maintenance and enhanced performance in smart semiconductor manufacturing. We are seeking an experienced development engineer passionate about sensors and vacuum technology. Your responsibilities include:
Development and characterization of sensors for gas flow delivery and process control technology
Assessment of gas sensing technologies, both practical and theoretical
Setup and validation of prototypes for sensors, hybrid systems, and gas control systems
Assembly and maintenance of experimental setups, including automated data collection
Design, perform, and document experiments (DoE) with organized results
Collaboration with technology partners and universities
Requirements Engineering Degree (MSc or PhD) in physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, or related field
Solid knowledge of gas concentration measurement techniques and sensors, applicable in vacuum/plasma processing
Experience in developing concepts and prototyping complex systems
Background in semiconductor-related vacuum technology and/or gas analytical techniques is beneficial
Proficiency in scripting (Python) for data processing
Experience with modeling tools (e.g., Matlab, COMSOL) is desirable
Hands-on, systematic approach, creative problem solver, with good communication skills
