Overview
WHO JPO - External Relations Officer, Innovative Finance. Location: Geneva, Switzerland. This is a fixed-term, full-time position funded by the Government of Canada and open only to nationals of Canada. Age restriction: maximum 32 years on 31 Dec 2025.

Responsibilities
* Support operationalization and day-to-day management of the HIIP Secretariat, including developing the pipeline of potential applications, tracking progress, and maintaining a database of country concept notes and proposals, documenting submissions, reviews and approvals.
* Support operationalization of technical assistance activities across WHO levels, including setup of the first HIIP countries in coordination with WHO Country Offices and HIIP regional coordinators; develop and document internal processes for HIIP delivery.
* Participate in development of internal and external documents for events (concept notes, briefing notes, meeting agendas).
* Coordinate HIIP governance meetings: calendar development, agenda tracking, and minutes preparation.
* Liaise with stakeholders to prepare HIIP narrative and financial reports.
* Provide day-to-day support for other innovative finance initiatives: analysis and review of potential opportunities.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
* Advanced University Degree in business administration, finance, or international relations.
* Essential: At least two years of experience in finance, international relations, diplomacy, global health, or a related area.
* Desirable: Experience in international development (e.g., with multilateral development banks, donor organizations, or UN agencies).
Skills
* Excellent computer skills; strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Strong communication, writing, and editing skills; knowledge of finance concepts and financial markets.
* Knowledge of the public health sector and WHO’s role in global health.
Languages
* Essential: English (expert); Desirable: French (intermediate).
