Project Overview
For the Maintenance and Operations project, we are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a large-scale IT system in a public-sector environment. The project involves the analysis, optimisation, and continuous improvement of business processes and IT-supported solutions, working closely with stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners.
Start Date: Mid-May 2026
End Date: End of December 2028
Location: Bern (60% onsite)
Workload: Full-time (100%)
Contract Type: Long-term contract / consultancy
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse, document, and manage business requirements throughout the project lifecycle
* Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams
* Elicit, structure, and validate requirements using appropriate methods and techniques
* Create clear and structured documentation (business requirements, functional specifications, use cases)
* Support solution design and ensure alignment with business needs
* Collaborate closely with development, testing, and operations teams
* Support testing activities, including test planning, coordination, and validation of results
* Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, tools, and methodologies
* Participate actively in workshops, reviews, and stakeholder meetings
* Ensure high-quality deliverables in accordance with project and organisational standards
Mandatory Requirements
* Proven experience as a Business Analyst in medium to large IT projects
* Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Business Analysis (senior profiles strongly preferred)
* Higher education degree (University, University of Applied Sciences, or equivalent)
* Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE - Foundation level or equivalent)
* Strong experience in requirements engineering and business analysis methodologies
* Ability to work in complex stakeholder environments
Language Skills
* German: Minimum C1 (spoken and written) - documentation must be delivered in German
* French: Minimum B1 (spoken and written) - communication with stakeholders required
Nice-to-Have / Additional Skills
* Experience as a Test Manager or strong involvement in testing activities
* Experience in public-sector or government-related IT projects
* Experience in migration, police, border control, or security-related domains
* Technical background (e.g. previous experience as a developer or IT architect)
* Familiarity with Agile and/or hybrid project environments
