Job Description
Your responsibilities will include supporting the Infrastructure, Integration and Installation team within the AWAKE project.
You will contribute to the CNGS target area dismantling project (CTD), whose deliverables are prerequisites to the start of AWAKE installation.
Work Environment
You will be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team of young, competent and enthusiastic physicists, engineers and technicians working on the AWAKE and CTD projects.
Familiarizing yourself with the environment and processes of the AWAKE and CTD projects, including equipment, service, and infrastructure experts is essential.
On-site visits in the underground AWAKE and CNGS tunnels are required as part of your work (~10%). You will follow up on, and participate in, the dismantling and installation works on-site.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive integration, installation and infrastructure studies and works for AWAKE.
* Collect information from AWAKE equipment experts regarding future installation in the dismantled CNGS target area, as well as infrastructure and installation requirements.
* Discuss requirements with infrastructure experts to ensure they can design the necessary infrastructure.
* Perform integration, installation and infrastructure studies with dedicated design office and relevant experts support.
* Audit safety already in the design and integration steps, ensuring CERN's safety rules are respected during installation and operation of AWAKE.
* Participate in dedicated integration meetings for AWAKE and follow up with AWAKE experts to prepare the installation phase.
Planning & Coordination
* Update existing planning for CTD works and act as link person between CTD on-site coordinator and SPS facility coordinator.
* Collect input from AWAKE stakeholders to develop, follow up on and document AWAKE installation planning.
* Follow up on on-site activities in line with planning, addressing coactivity where necessary while respecting CERN's general and radiological safety rules.

Eligibility Criteria
* National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
* Professional background in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with Master's degree and 2-6 years of professional experience or PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation experience.
* No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract.
