Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Distribution & Logistics Specialist to manage and oversee distribution and logistics operations, ensuring the seamless execution of international shipments, inventory planning, and order-to-cash processes across various distribution models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute end-to-end distribution and logistics operations, with accountability for complex international shipments, customer replenishments, and invoicing processes.
- Operate across all functional areas of Distribution & Logistics with a strong foundation in at least one core area.
- Collaborate closely with Global Supply Chain and Technical Operations teams to ensure timely and compliant logistics execution.
- Coordinate Finished Goods (FG) shipments and handle all associated activities including invoicing, shipping deviations, and issue resolution.
- Conduct regular cross-functional meetings with stakeholders including Planning, Quality, Commercial, Finance, S&OP, and Packaging Engineering to address and resolve operational challenges.
- Monitor and proactively communicate potential shipment risks to management and support the implementation of corrective actions to minimize supply disruptions.
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory and internal quality standards (e.g., SOX, GMP, GDP).
- Analyze inventory levels and supply chain dynamics to optimize logistics planning and execution.
- Continuously evaluate and improve cross-functional and logistics processes to enhance efficiency and service levels.
- Provide introductory training and support across Distribution & Logistics functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Supply Chain related Education or Fachhochschule (Supply Chain/Export Expert ?Logistikfachmann/Exportfachmann)
- Lean Six Sigma/Green Belt is an asset
- Minimum 3 – 5 years working experience in a Logistics role with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry
- Experience within an international and regulated environment is required
- Proven experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain management within a regulated environment (pharmaceuticals, biotech, or similar industry preferred).
- Strong operational knowledge of international shipments and distribution models.
- Solid understanding of compliance and quality requirements (e.g., SOX, GMP, GDP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Effective communicator with experience working across cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in ERP and logistics systems (SAP preferred).
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
