Overview
Reference Data Analyst – Location: Zurich, Switzerland. Type: Full-time. Department: Financial Markets.
Summary: As a Reference Data Analyst you will be responsible for the accurate creation, maintenance, and governance of static and dynamic reference data across multiple financial products and systems. This role supports collateral management operations by ensuring data integrity, timely updates, and alignment with regulatory and operational standards.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and validate reference data for counterparties, securities, and agreements used in collateral management systems and workflows.
* Set up accounts in Collateral Management Systems, ensuring alignment with CSAs, ISDA, and SMA agreements.
* Collaborate with middle office, risk, and legal teams to onboard new counterparties, secure approvals and update records.
* Liaise with external vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Markit, DTCC) and internal stakeholders to source and verify data.
* Initiate and coordinate SSIs setup requests and coordinate with Ops teams and stakeholders.
* Address queries related to collateral accounts, SSIs setup.
* Plan and track client onboarding schedules, highlighting dependencies and risks.
* Maintain trackers and provide regular status updates in meetings and calls.
* Ensure timely coordination and escalation of issues/risks.
* Support additional or ad-hoc requests and projects.
* Adhere to operational controls (e.g. SOPs, SLAs, and KPIs).
* Participate in data quality initiatives, including exception reporting, root cause analysis, and remediation.
* Contribute to automation and process improvement efforts using tools such as Alteryx, Xceptor, or internal workflow engines.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
Eligibility Requirements
* 1–5 years of experience in reference data management, preferably within collateral, middle office, or securities operations.
* Good understanding of financial instruments (e.g., OTC derivatives, equities, fixed income, FX) and collateral lifecycle.
* Familiarity with collateral management platforms (e.g., AcadiaSoft, TriResolve, Murex) and data governance tools.
* Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups); exposure to SQL or data visualization tools is a plus.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
* Knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting collateral and data.
* Experience with reconciliation tools and exception management workflows.
* Languages: German and/or English.
* Work Permit: Must possess a Swiss Work Permit or a EU Passport.
