You will join the Business Computing Group (BC), where 80+ talented international colleagues are responsible for delivering information systems for all of CERN’s business functions.
The product management driven group is working for clients across the whole Organisation (HR, Finance, Planning, Safety, Security, Purchasing, Logistics, and Accelerator Operations). The type of products under the group’s responsibility ranges from custom-made solutions for a few users to large and widely integrated systems with 15,000+ users. Hence, working for the BC group provides numerous perspectives for being in touch with different technologies and business areas.
Functions
As a Business Analyst you will liaise between agile teams, product managers, business partners and users to understand the underlying demands and advise on the best solutions.
This transversal position will include activities in three main areas: solution, strategy and relationship management.
You will take on the following responsibilities:
1. Lead business analysis efforts to support the strategic objectives of our activities;
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritise business requirements;
3. Analyse business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimisation;
4. Develop and maintain business process documentation (using BPMN and specialised business process modelling tools), including process flows and user requirements;
5. Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management based on analysis findings;
6. Guide cross-functional teams in the implementation of process improvements and system enhancements;
7. Monitor and report on key performance indicators to track progress towards organisational goals;
8. Be involved in team-related activities such as coordinating BA/UX practices, contributing to the definition and continuous improvement of shared methodologies, and supporting the development and coaching of team members.
Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Business and Management, Design, Computer Science or a related field.
Experience:
9. Extensive experience in business analysis in business computing;
10. Extensive knowledge of common business processes / best practices;
11. Experience in working in a product management environment;
12. Experience with coaching business analysts and specialists in connecting agile roles;
13. Familiarity with UX principles and methodologies would be advantageous in this role;
14. Experience with ERP systems in the domains of Finance and/or Human Resources is a strong asset.
Technical competencies:
15. Capturing and analysis of requirements for ICT systems: deep enough technology understanding to translate needs to product requirements.
16. Process analysis, definition and improvement: change management.
