icebreaker is looking for an exceptional Global Apparel Designer to join our Product team based in Stabio, Switzerland. Responsibilities
* Conceptualize, design and execute creative projects for the global product and creative department’s needs, including Men’s and Women’s apparel.
* Utilize design skills to create products that meet expectations in terms of value and cost.
* Interact constantly with category team members in development and product management to deliver the appropriate execution for the target consumer audience.
* Ensure design practicality and meet merchandising business needs.
* Strive to create styles which meet relevant trends, whilst also staying true to brand.
* Design technical apparel using natural fibres.
How You Will Make a Difference
* Support seasonal storytelling and colour direction by thorough trend, market and competitor research, informing the creation of mood and concept boards.
* Work in close partnership with the Product Director, Senior Design Manager, Developer, Tech Designer and Merchandiser on the designated category/style.
* Support in the design, development, approval and usage of all trims.
* Collaborate with the product development team to ensure style, fit, quality, detail requirements.
* Meet expectations on accuracy and on‑time delivery along the product calendar.
* Facilitate agile decision making on prototype review and revision.
* Produce thorough tech packs in Illustrator with detailed drawings to convey direction for the development team to understand with ease.
Skills for Success
* Collaborative, flexible, positive and a problem solver.
* Experience: 3‑5 years of apparel product design with similar brand(s) or organization(s).
* Fluent English essential; additional language is a plus.
* Portfolio of work demonstrating various skills, design and development knowledge, relevancy, and consumer awareness.
* Adobe Creative Suite.
* Proficiency in 3D Product Creation Software e.g. Browswear, CLO.
* Microsoft Office.
* Knowledgeable in construction and pattern cutting executions.
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast environment and flexibly manage and adapt to change.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work within a cross‑functional team which supports project management and development.
* Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams, finding solutions with the consumer always at the forefront of mind.
* Strong problem‑solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong presentation skills.
Qualifications
* A University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Fashion / Product Design or equivalent is required.
