JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Project Planner / Scheduler to support the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCmV) group in delivering large-scale CAPEX projects. Reporting directly to the Project Controls Manager and Planning Lead, the successful candidate will play a critical role in the planning and execution of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and regulatory standards.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop and maintain detailed, robust, and reliable project schedules.
* Utilize scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint to support planning activities.
* Integrate schedule data from multiple sources including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning teams, vendors, and contractors into a master schedule
* Generate manpower loading reports and progress S-curves.
* Monitor and report project progress, highlighting deviations and bottlenecks in the baseline schedule
* Perform Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and recommend corrective actions where necessary
* Prepare scheduling inputs for monthly project reports, KPIs, trackers, and stakeholder presentations.
* Provide clear and concise data to PMs and lead planners to support rapid decision-making.
* Support the change management process and assess impact on schedule and cost
* Contribute to schedule setup, baselining, and control throughout all phases of the EPCmV project lifecycle.
* Attend project team meetings to review progress, issues, and schedule risks.
* Foster strong working relationships across teams and disciplines
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in CAPEX project planning/scheduling, ideally within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
* Proven experience across all EPCmV phases of large-scale capital projects.
* Expertise in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and advanced Excel skills.
* Strong understanding of risk and change management practices.
* Demonstrated problem-solving ability in cross-functional environments.
* Fluent in English; German language skills highly desirable.
* Experience supporting Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) is a plus.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a high-performance environment.
Additional Information
* This is an immediate requirement, and the role will be based 100% onsite in Basel initially.
* Future flexibility to reduce to 80% onsite may be considered.
* The role may evolve based on project needs and candidate expertise, particularly in supporting CQV-related activities.
