OverviewOur client is a Tier 1 Asset Management Company active across global and multi asset-class investments. As part of their development, they are looking for a team-leader to manage a team of seasoned Portfolio Managers running systematic and absolute return strategies.ResponsibilitiesThe Head of Systematic & Absolute Return Strategies will act as a true team leader and mentor to the senior portfolio managers, supporting and challenging their research efforts, supervising the development of the company’s quantitative research and trading platform, and ensuring the coherence of the overall strategy with the Head of Investments and CIO.As a team-leader the Head of Systematic & Absolute Return Strategies will set clear goals, priorities, and expectations for the team, organize and monitor day-to-day work delivery, manage team resources, capacity and workload effectively.As a mentor they will provide regular coaching, feedback, recognition and encourage individual development. They will ensure team well-being, motivation, and cohesion and foster a culture of rigorous research and intellectual curiosity.Working closely with the COO and the CRO the Head of Systematic & Absolute Return Strategies will maintain robust risk frameworks, oversee architecture, data pipelines, and execution layers of the systematic quant platform.Leveraging their experience, curiosity, and leadership, the Head of Systematic & Absolute Return Strategies will develop new strategies and have the opportunity to further build the team.RequirementsMaster’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Physics or Finance, PhD and/or MBA a plus.Proven experience in systematic and quantitative strategies within the alternative risk premia spaceStrong understanding of global macro strategiesAt least 15 years of experience in Investment Bank, Asset management or Hedge FundExperience in team-managementAhead of the curve in terms of research, developments, new products and market trendsDiscretion and low public profileExperience in modern quantitative platforms (DevOps, Kubernetes, Python)Self-driven and capable of working independently towards precise objectivesGood oral and written communication skillsYou will thrive in this organisation if you haveA pro-active, curious and entrepreneurial attitude.
