We leverage our global reach and extensive asset network to serve our customers and consumers around the world. Structured as a matrix organization of six geographical regions and ten platforms, LDC is active in over 100 countries and employs approximately 18,000 people globally.

Job Description

LDC is looking for a Corporate Legal Counsel to join the EMEA Legal team in Geneva. The role involves supporting the corporate governance of all LDC entities in 27 jurisdictions throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and providing corporate and legal administrative support to the legal teams on a wide variety of matters. In addition to proven corporate governance expertise, the successful candidate will be familiar with regulatory review, intellectual property, leases, service‑level agreements, procurement and construction advice, compliance/KYC requests in line with LDC policies, and handling disputes.

Responsibilities

* Coordinate corporate legal support, including drafting, reviewing, coordinating, and ensuring correct execution and legalisation of multiple documents required by any Function or Platform, both regionally and globally—often on an urgent basis. Manage electronic and physical archiving and serve as the point person for this resource within the EMEA Legal Team.
* Assess and respond to KYC requests, coordinating the provision of each applicable suite of documentation, including updated, executed, and legalised documents where necessary.
* Draft and review general corporate documentation such as Board and Shareholder Resolutions, Powers of Attorney, Engagement Letters, and Forms and Statements for the EMEA region.
* Work with external providers—corporate secretaries, liquidators, auditors—challenging and refining their advice before liaising with internal stakeholders, and actively participate in cost reporting and management.
* Support the Group Head of Legal and Chief Legal Officer for EMEA with research on various standalone topics ranging from global to regional and administrative tasks (e.g., visa requests).
* Provide support on standalone ad‑hoc projects in the EMEA region as required.
* Organize and maintain reference materials and databases, support uploading documents to Virtual Data Rooms, and keep other databases on Corporate M&A projects globally and regionally in sync with the LDC Legal Operational resources.

Experience

* Minimum 3 years of PQE gained in a well‑regarded law firm or well‑established in‑house environment.
* Experience working with African jurisdictions or more broadly in a global environment is an advantage.

Skills

* Excellent knowledge of PC operating systems, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
* Good communication skills, providing timely and proactive feedback to stakeholders.
* Excellent organisational skill.
* Team player with a collaborative/collegiate approach.
* Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
* Ability to work quickly and to a high level of accuracy under pressure.
* Ability to work within a small local team and across geographies in a large global company.
* English or common‑law qualification preferred.

Education

* Degree in Law is a minimum requirement.

Languages

Fluent English and French. German and/or Spanish would be an advantage.

Diversity & Inclusion

LDC is driven by a set of shared values and high ethical standards, with diversity and inclusion part of our DNA. LDC is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity, equity and inclusion. We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply and support local communities and environmental initiatives.
