Role overview
As an EHS Professional (Trainee) in Operations, you’ll be working alongside our experienced Health and Safety and Facilities teams to help make STACK’s data centers the safest, most efficient in the world.
You’ll be learning what great safety leadership looks like, supporting the maintenance and retrofit of STACK facilities while helping to protect the wellbeing of every person who works here.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role for someone who’s eager to learn, proactive by nature, and ready to grow a meaningful career in a fast-growing, critical industry.
Tasks and responsibilities
Support operational safety at STACK sites
* Help maintain a safe, inclusive working environment across our live data centers
* Work directly with our H&S and operations teams to support day-to-day safety practices
* Get familiar with legal requirements and STACK’s own high internal standards
Learn how to lead on safety
* Monitor and support external contractors as they carry out maintenance or retrofit work
* Represent STACK on-site as a safety-first voice in key meetings and walkthroughs
* Keep our safety records and legal registers up to date
Respond and learn from incidents
* Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
* Write up what happened and what can be learned from it, sharing with senior teams
* Help ensure we’re always learning, improving, and doing better next time
Work on real projects that matter
* Contribute to STACK’s regional H&S plan by supporting safety inspections and audits
* Help roll out improvements based on safety performance data and team feedback
* Collaborate with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) colleagues on joint initiatives
Build your confidence and communication skills
* Present safety updates and insights to internal and external stakeholders
* Attend meetings with regulators, clients, and vendors and learn how to build strong relationships
* Get exposure to different teams, countries, and approaches across STACK

The skills you’ll need

* Good interpersonal skills for collaboration with colleagues, vendors and clients
* IT and computer skills (MS Office suite, etc.) with ability to work in and learn various operating software tools and systems
* Written and verbal skills in English and local language
* Service-oriented mindset with a focus on client satisfaction
The practicalities
* You’ll be based at a STACK data center campus in Gland
* You may occasionally rotate across other sites to learn best practices and support as needed
* This is a long-term career path - learners can go on to become senior technicians or team leads within a few years
