Ph3About the Role /h3 pHyatt seeks an experienced Senior Data Engineer who will work closely with engineering, product managers, and data science teams to meet the data requirements of various initiatives. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liCollaborate with product managers, data scientists, engineering, and program management teams to define product features, business deliverables, and strategies for data products. /li liCollaborate with business partners, operations, senior management, and other stakeholders to support day‑to‑day operational needs. /li liSupport operational reporting, self‑service data engineering efforts, production data pipelines, and business intelligence suite. /li liInterface with multiple diverse stakeholders, gather and understand business requirements, assess feasibility and impact, and deliver on time with high quality. /li liDesign appropriate solutions and recommend alternative approaches when necessary. /li liResearch, prototype, and recommend emerging tools and technologies across cloud data engineering and Generative AI. /li liEnable current Generative AI initiatives through the development of pipelines that process unstructured data, transform text, integrate models, and validate generated outputs. /li liWork with high volumes of data, fine‑tune database queries, and solve complex technical problems. /li liContribute to multiple projects/demands simultaneously and work in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and iterative environment. /li liExercise independent judgment in methods and techniques for obtaining results. /li liWork in an agile/scrum environment and use state‑of‑the‑art technologies to acquire, ingest and transform big datasets. /li liCommit to Hyatt's core values: respect, integrity, humility, empathy, creativity, and fun. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul li8+ years of experience in data engineering or related technical work including business intelligence, analytics. /li liComfortable solving problems in ambiguous and constantly changing environments; proven ability to thrive in dynamic, fast‑paced settings. /li liDesign and build scalable, robust data pipelines to enable data‑driven decisions. /li liStrong understanding of the full software development life cycle. /li liDeep knowledge of data warehousing concepts and approaches. /li liExperience building data pipelines and ETL approaches. /li liExperience building high‑volume data workflows in a cloud environment. /li liExperience building data warehouses and business intelligence projects. /li liExperience in data cleansing, data validation, and data wrangling. /li liHands‑on experience with AWS cloud and native technologies such as Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Lake Formation, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions, Athena. /li liExperience with BI tools like Tableau, Cognos, ThoughtSpot. /li liExperience with relational databases such as Oracle, Snowflake, including advanced SQL, tasks/streams, stored procedures, and performance tuning. /li liHands‑on experience with Snowflake Cortex AI, AI SQL functions or equivalent production LLM platform. /li liProficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, NoSQL, relational database concepts, and dimensional modeling. /li liHands‑on experience building complex business logic and data ingestion and transformation workflows using Informatica IICS or similar tools, AWS pipelines, Snowpipe, streaming solutions, Kafka. /li liHands‑on experience with Python/shell scripting and SQL for building scalable data pipelines. /li liExperience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation. /li liExperience implementing LLM observability with Arize or comparable platform is a plus. /li liStrong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate integrity, maturity, and a constructive approach to challenges, analytical, problem‑solving skills, and team player. /li liPassionate about programming and learning new technologies; focus on self and team skill improvement. /li liEffective problem‑solving and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple projects and report across stakeholders, rigorous attention to detail and accuracy. /li /ul h3Preferred Experience /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or related quantitative field. /li /ul h3Benefits /h3 ul liAnnual allotment of free hotel stays at Hyatt hotels globally. /li liWork‑life benefits including wellbeing initiatives such as a complimentary Headspace subscription and discount at on‑site fitness center. /li liGlobal family assistance policy with paid time off following birth or adoption, plus financial assistance for adoption. /li liPaid Time Off; Medical, Dental, Vision; 401(k) with company match. /li /ul h3Salary /h3 pThe salary range for this position is $135,000 - $170,000 and is also eligible to earn an annual bonus.
