Ph3Responsibilities /h3 ul liParticipate in public consultations of the UBI in Bern about 10 days a year, assess complaints against radio and television contributions in the 9‑person committee and vote for approval or dismissal. /li liPrepare UBI consultations, in particular produce speeches for the assigned complaint cases. /li liAssist in circular decisions and in the selection and oversight of the ombuds offices of private broadcasting operators. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liLegal or comparable academic training. /li liSeveral years of experience in journalism or comparable knowledge of media. /li liIndependence according to the legal requirements for extra‑parliamentary commissions of the federal government. /li liExcellent active skills in at least one second official language and passive skills in a third official language. /li liIntegrity, conscientiousness, decisiveness, and willingness to perform. /li /ul h3Role Context /h3 pAs a member of the UBI, your arguments and vote influence the outcome of complaint proceedings. The members are elected by the Federal Council.
