System Engineer – E‑Bike Batteries & Chargers | 100% | Cham, Switzerland
Why this role exists
We are looking for a system engineer who is passionate about e‑bikes, energy systems, and learning how complex products are developed end‑to‑end. In this role, you will focus on battery packs and charging systems while working closely with experienced system engineers across the full e‑bike platform.
Battery & Charger System Support (Your Core Focus)
Support the development and validation of Li‑ion battery packs and chargers for future e‑bike platforms.
Assist in defining system‑level requirements together with product management, quality, and senior engineers.
Support firmware validation and system integration activities related to batteries and chargers.
Collaborate with battery and charger suppliers and learn how to evaluate technical solutions.
Stay curious and help assess new battery and charging technologies for future e‑bike applications.
System Integration & Team Collaboration
Work closely with system engineers responsible for motors, HMIs, and other components to ensure smooth system‑level integration.
Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to realize a complete bike platform.
Learn how battery and charger systems interact with the full e‑bike system (communication, power, safety).
Support in‑house system and component testing (standalone system and complete bike).
Assist in verification of battery hardware and firmware.
Support the quality team in analyzing field issues and coordinating fixes with suppliers.
Document lessons learned and contribute to guidelines and best practices.
What You Need To Succeed
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
First experience (internships, thesis, or junior role) in product development, e.g., consumer electronics or automotive systems.
Basic understanding of Li‑ion batteries and BMS concepts (professional experience not required).
Interest in embedded systems and communication protocols (e.g., CAN).
Motivation to learn, a structured way of thinking, and a hands‑on mindset.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Good English skills; German is a plus.
Willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 10–20%).
Passion for cycling, sports, and innovation.
