Your Role and Responsibilities
As a site supervisor, you will represent ABB to customers and contractors at the customer site. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising/executing all mechanical work/services during erection, installation, pre-commissioning, or periodic maintenance inspections. You will oversee mechanics and trade helpers in mechanical repair, maintenance, and installation, guiding and supporting the mechanical maintenance team using predictive and preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal operation of plant equipment.
The work model for this role is: #LI-Hybrid. This position contributes to the Process Industries division in Switzerland.
Responsibilities
* Plan and execute detailed mechanical works based on contractual requirements and available resources, advising site personnel on proper tool and material use, and reporting discrepancies in drawings for revision.
* Ensure and supervise that the mechanical workforce and contractors use tools and materials according to documentation and deliver work according to quality standards and schedule.
* Establish priorities, evaluate mechanical requirements with the site manager and engineering teams, and minimize schedule disruptions.
* Participate in site meetings with staff, contractors, and customers, addressing technical queries as needed.
Qualifications
* Degree as Mechanical Engineer Apprentice
* Minimum 3 years of verifiable site work experience
* Advanced technical knowledge of electrical aspects of the ABB GMD system
* Willingness to travel
* Fluency in English; Spanish is an advantage
