Purpose of Assignment
The consultant will support the design and delivery of joint communication plans and frameworks for multi‑country and global partnerships, coordinate communication planning across multiple markets, facilitate workshops, develop high‑quality communication assets, manage reputational risks, and oversee rollout and implementation of these assets in collaboration with markets.
Objective
To establish a roster that streamlines and accelerates the hiring of Communication Consultants, thereby fulfilling contractual obligations to showcase partnership recognition and the impact of UNICEF’s programmes.
Major Tasks to be Accomplished
* Develop communication packages such as press releases, social media assets, key messages, Q&A documents, and talking points for multi‑country partnerships in close collaboration with relevant National Committees, regional, and country offices.
* Organise and facilitate communication workshops and meetings to develop partnership communication frameworks and plans.
* Manage reputational risks related to partnerships through communication strategies.
* Oversee implementation of agreed communication plans and activities across countries, ensuring alignment at the global, regional and national levels.
* Support partnership communication requirements of new high‑value partners and participate in meetings to facilitate overall alignment across workstreams and offices.
Responsibilities of the Consultant
* Use own equipment, laptop, software and other accessories required for the task.
* Maintain regular liaison with manager, communication specialists (Team Leads) and related units.
Responsibilities of UNICEF
* Provide all details pertaining to the activity and the requirements.
* Orient the consultant on UNICEF’s branding guidelines.
* Share documents and specifications and coordinate timely delivery of work.
Travel
There is a possibility of travel during the assignment on a per‑need basis, which will be covered separately by UNICEF.
Estimated Duration
The roster has validity for 3 years; UNICEF does not guarantee that any quantity of services will be purchased during the term of the roster.
Eligibility and Qualifications
Education
* Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or higher) in Marketing, Communications, Business, Social Sciences, Arts, or related fields.
* A first‑level university degree (Bachelor’s or higher) combined with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Experience
* Minimum of five years’ progressive experience in Communications, Public Relations, Account/Client Management, Sales, Marketing, Fundraising, or Advertising.
* Experience working in partnership contexts, including customer‑facing partnerships.
* At least two years of experience at an international level is desirable; previous regional or country office experience is an asset.
Language
* Fluency in English is required.
* Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is considered an asset.
Others
* Demonstrated ability to write press releases, develop communication plans and familiarity with social media as a marketing tool.
* Ability to work under minimal supervision.
* Occasional travel may be required.
* Familiarity with UNICEF and its systems and ways of working is an advantage.
* Consultants will mainly work with countries in Europe; time zones will be taken into consideration.
