Ph3ICT System Specialist /h3 pETH Zürich CSCS – Swiss National Supercomputing Centre /p h3Location and Employment /h3 ul liWork location: 6900 Lugano (TI) /li liWorkload: 80% - 100% /li liEmployment start: Immediately /li liEmployment duration: Until /li liInitial contract length: two years (may be extended or converted to permanent) /li liSalary: To be negotiated /li /ul h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liThe main objective of this role is to develop and manage HPC/AI services on a multi‑tenant infrastructure. /li liContribute directly to the design, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of platform services supporting HPC and AI, improving overall system functionality and efficiency. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. /li liExperience in implementing HPC, AI, or cloud infrastructure. /li liManagement of HPC/AI services to maximize the utilization of computing resources, storage, and high‑speed network components. /li liPractical knowledge of automation tools and frameworks, including CI/CD processes and the ecosystem. /li liLinux administration skills. /li liExperience with version control systems and CI/CD workflows such as ArgoCD, debugging microservices running on Kubernetes, performance monitoring and diagnostic tools for HPC/AI hardware, Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible (desirable). /li liMotivated and proactive individual, capable of working as part of a team. /li liExcellent communication skills or a desire to develop them. /li liStrong problem‑solving skills, with tolerance for uncertainty and change. /li liUnderstanding of user needs and collaborative approach to meeting them. /li liFlexible and willing to learn new technologies with and from others. /li liComfortable tackling complex or ambiguous problems; comfortable admitting when you don’t know, asking for help and drawing on the right expertise when necessary. /li /ul h3Project Management and Methodology /h3 ul liExperience working in self‑organized teams. /li liKnowledge of Agile methodology. /li liExperience in test‑driven development is a plus. /li liWe are committed to building a diverse and inclusive engineering team and particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups in the technology sector. /li /ul h3Benefits /h3 pA job that makes a difference: join ETH Zurich, which supports your professional development and contributes to positive change in society. /p pBenefits include: public transport and car sharing passes, sports activities offered by ASVZ, childcare services, and attractive pension benefits.
