Overview
UNICEF Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) seeks experienced content production consultants to support the creation of high‑quality, compelling content that strengthens UNICEF’s brand and drives income, influence, and supporter engagement.
Purpose of Assignment
Provide production services for emergencies and non‑emergency projects, coordinating, planning, and managing large projects, including emergency response content, impact stories, and high‑value donor engagement.
Major Tasks
Research issues, write briefs, and develop storylines.
Coordinate with crews and content creators remotely.
Draft scripts and ensure fact‑checking.
Produce, edit, and package multimedia assets, ensuring compliance with UNICEF brand and technical specifications.
Upload assets to UNICEF DAM and WeShare, provide varied versions for international, social media, and donor platforms.
Manage approvals and rounds of changes.
Support live or prerecorded virtual events with content preparation.
Provide motion graphics and basic video editing as needed.
Maintain documentation such as shotlists, scripts, and metadata.
Categories of Production
Category 1: Producers
Identify and research stories.
Write briefs, storylines, and angle explorations.
Coordinate with field crews and troubleshoot during shoots.
Draft fact‑checked scripts.
Ensure brand and technical compliance.
Review, edit, and consolidate material for clarity.
Package assets and upload to DAM, ensuring all versions available.
Collaborate with HQ and Country Office counterparts.
Produce repurposed assets such as explainers and photo essays.
Submit all paperwork per UNICEF standards.
Implement UNICEF workflows and toolkits.
Manage approvals and revisions.
Category 2: Production
Produce high‑quality multimedia assets.
Research and plan productions.
Shoot video material on location or at events.
Adhere to UNICEF’s production guidelines.
Package raw materials into selections for editors.
Upload content, translate raw material where appropriate.
Capture photography when needed.
Category 3: Editing and Post‑Production
Edit high‑quality multimedia assets, including human interest stories, explainers, montage pieces, and impact stories.
Support live or pre‑recorded virtual events.
Brief in‑country videographers and creative teams.
Create basic motion graphics.
Coordinate with PFP teams, HQ, and Country Offices.
Review, edit, and consolidate material.
Ensure spelling, place names, and brand consistency.
Submit paperwork per UNICEF standards.
Deliver on tight timelines.
Produce platform‑specific edits for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Deliverables
Human interest stories (1‑10 min videos, photo sets, text stories).
Explainers, profiles, call‑to‑action pieces.
Platform‑specific edits (16x9, 9x16, 1x1).
International versions and subtitles.
Shotlists and scripts.
Travel and Duration
No travel is envisaged; occasional on‑demand travel may be covered separately. The long‑term agreement is for three years.
Qualifications
Education
First‑level university degree in Marketing, Communications, Humanities, journalism, or a related technical field.
Additional training in a related field is an asset.
Experience
Minimum five years of professional experience in multimedia and communications.
Proven experience in all facets of multimedia production.
Experience working with professional photographers, videographers, writers.
Experience with creative teams/agencies.
Experience in scriptwriting.
Experience in high‑pressure environments such as news broadcasters.
Project management experience.
Experience in developing and emergency environments.
Language
Fluency in English required; knowledge of another UN language or local language is an asset.
