We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. This hands‑on role focuses on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operational response. Your work will help maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures.
Key job responsibilities
* On‑site management of contractors, sub‑contractors and vendors, ensuring that work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures and local legislation.
* Maintain performance benchmarks, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations & maintenance.
* Generate Change Management requests & Incident Management tickets as directed.
* Contribute to documentation relevant to business & facility operations.
* Assist with rack installation and the provision of power/cooling.
* Support routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, cooling equipment, and building monitoring systems.
* Assist in design, implementation, commissioning and build‑out of new facilities.
* Assist with management of facility assets.
* Participate in Construction & Operational meetings as required.
* Assist with Work Order compliance and review of contractual SLAs.
* Interface with Infra Ops teams for day‑to‑day operational requirements.
* Assist in the resolution of any infrastructure engineering or services issue.
* Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
A day in the life
* Monitor alarms and systems that manage power, cooling, and fire suppression in the data center.
* Coordinate vendor work on‑site to ensure equipment is maintained and uptime is preserved.
* Support other teams and sites during events and planned works.
* Handle rack installations and power up equipment.
* Monitor and facilitate the handover of new equipment.
* Share knowledge and support new team members.
* Participate in event response drills.

Basic Qualifications
* Technical diploma (Military/Trade School) or similar experience.
* 2+ years of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience in critical infrastructure, ideally within Data Center operations.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast‑paced environment.
* Eagerness to learn, motivation, and self‑starter attitude.
* Good communication and coordination skills.
* Must be able to participate in on‑call rotation, and work overtime when required.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in Data Center Operations.
* Degree or Certifications in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
* Certified for Electrical Switching in Switzerland.
* German speaking.
