In our quest to revolutionize the world’s infrastructure, we’re seeking a dynamic Software Developer with Embedded Linux experience for our Product Solution Automation Team within out Smart Infrastructure business.
The Role
Join our core team dedicated to developing the next generation of intelligent building systems. We are at the forefront of significantly improving energy efficiency and user friendliness in smart buildings, where technology interacts seamlessly with people, systems, and external elements.
Your new responsibilities
1. Develop the business logic and software architecture for the automation controllers of our successful "Desigo" building automation system
2. Design, implement, maintain, enhance, test, and support software on Embedded Linux systems
3. Ensure code quality through documentation, issue tracking, bug fixing, and governance of code repositories
4. Support and coordinate with global colleagues, contributing to release management for maintained software
5. Evaluate and contribute to open-source and internal software components with an "open mindset" and "upstream first" approach
6. Work in an agile development environment (Scrum), focusing on customer needs and delivering high-quality software
Your talents and experience
7. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field
8. At least 5 years in object-oriented design and professional software development
9. Strong proficiency in modern C++ (20) and optional scripting languages (Python, Linux shell)
10. Solid software engineering knowledge for secure embedded devices, including Embedded Linux, Yocto Project, and Podman
11. Knowledge of Building Automation Protocols such as BACnet/SC, Modbus, KNX, M-Bus, IPv6, CoAP is advantageous
12. Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (CMake, GitLab, Lava), Git, Googletest, and code analysis tools
13. Proven experience in agile development (Scrum) and effective requirements engineering
14. Excellent communication skills, proactive personality, and ability to collaborate globally
15. Willingness to take ownership of topics, drive innovation, and adapt to change
16. Fluent, negotiation-level English and ideally good knowledge of German
