We are seeking an experienced R2R Finance Solution Architect to join our Global Finance Services and Controlling Applications Team. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of finance solutions, drive process standardization, and contribute to the transformation of our financial systems, including our migration to SAP S/4HANA. Reporting to our headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, you will collaborate with global stakeholders to optimize finance operations and enable business growth.

As part of Straumann's finance transformation journey, including a shift to SAP S/4HANA, you will play a key role in rolling out and improving core processes across our international subsidiaries. You will work independently with stakeholders, coordinate with external suppliers, and have the freedom to innovate while delivering state-of-the-art finance solutions. Position is open to Basel, Freiburg (Germany) and Madrid.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Implementation
1. Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of R2R solutions, focusing on SAP finance enterprise structure, finance master data distribution models and system integration
2. Configure and enhance SAP Treasury functionality, with a particular focus on Loans management
3. Act as technical owner for configuring and optimizing RE-FX module for IFRS16 compliance
4. Drive the transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, ensuring seamless migration and integration
Process Standardization & Optimization
5. Standardize and optimize global R2R processes, particularly period-end closing procedures, intercompany reconciliation, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting
6. Develop and document solution architecture, including process flows, integration patterns, and technical specifications
7. Implement best practices for finance process automation and efficiency improvements
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
8. Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders in Finance, Treasury, Procurement, and IT, aligning finance solutions with business strategies.
9. Lead solution design workshops to gather business requirements and provide technical leadership
10. Manage relationships and coordinate with external consulting and support service providers to ensure efficient solution delivery
Compliance & Best Practices
11. Ensure all solutions comply with financial regulations, corporate governance standards, and IFRS requirements
12. Mentor and provide technical guidance on R2R best practices.
Requirements
13. 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, including 5+ years specializing in R2R finance processes with SAP ecosystems
14. Deep expertise in SAP finance modules, particularly in SAP Treasury (Loans management) and RE-FX
15. Proven track record of successful global SAP implementations
16. Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation projects
17. Strong knowledge of finance master data distribution models
18. Understanding of financial processes, consolidation principles, and compliance requirements
19. Experience with group reporting and consolidation systems (preferred)
20. Proactive and customer-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently
21. Resilience, eager to learn, and able to think holistically and strategically
22. Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
23. Willingness to travel occasionally (5-10%).
