This position is accountable for leading the Commercial Excellence Chapter. In this capacity, you will ensure the Commercial Academy serves Roche Diagnostics as a world‑class Center of Excellence (CoE) by establishing a competitive capability engine. You ensure that the organization’s commercial workforce (Marketing, Sales, Consulting) possesses the advanced competencies, product mastery, and strategic agility required to outperform in a complex market. This position plays a key role in contributing to the success of the entire Diagnostics Division by driving a professionalized, standardized, and high‑impact product training, and commercial onboarding programs.
Key Responsibilities
* People Leadership: Lead and inspire a globally dispersed team of Commercial Development professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and Commercial Excellence across all regions, ensure that personal professional development is a priority, design and promote development journeys and act as an active coach and mentor to members of the Chapter as well as the entire Marketing function to help them grow and develop in their career.
* Capability Standardization: Set global standards for what "great" looks like across Sales, Consulting, and Marketing. You will define capability maturity frameworks and ensure consistency in job roles and expectations across affiliates and global.
* Curriculum Strategy: Sets the direction for the development of product and competitive training across the entire Diagnostics portfolios for learners primarily in Marketing and Sales roles. In addition oversee the design and delivery of standardized commercial onboarding programs, including the "Basecamp" (for new commercial joiners) and "Bootcamp" (for commercial leaders).
* Adoption & Mandate: Unlike the previous self‑guided model, you will drive professionalization by mandating specific learning paths for employees in commercial roles (sales, tender, marketing, launch, consulting) to ensure ambitious competency upskilling competency and uniform methodology uptake.
* Innovation in Learning: Drive the adoption of modern learning formats (eLearning, Virtual Live, AI‑driven coaching) to ensure scalable and effective upskilling. Align with other learning & development across Roche to define the future of learning.
Who you are
* A visionary and leader with 10+ years of experience in Commercial Excellence, L&D Strategy, or Global Marketing with a proven track record of leading large globally dispersed teams and developing other leaders.
* Demonstrated success in navigating complex, decentralized matrix organizations. Ability to build consensus, influence senior stakeholders, and drive compliance across autonomous affiliates.
* Extensive experience in building Corporate Academies or leading large‑scale organizational transformations. Passion driving cultural change, developing people and establishing operational standards.
* The ability to toggle between high‑level strategic vision (future capabilities) and operational rigor (mandating completion rates and quality standards).
* Deep understanding of the full commercial value chain (Sales, Marketing, Consulting, Tendering) within the Diagnostics industry and Digital Health.
