Position
The Thermal Integration team is responsible for the design of the gas turbine thermodynamic cycle and its secondary air system. This includes management of interfaces to components as compressor, combustor, turbine and structural parts and matching of the individual components to an optimal engine for all operational conditions.
Your tasks
1. Develop engine operating concepts and operation modes to meet power, efficiency, emissions & lifetime requirements in close cooperation with the component teams to secure competitiveness and flexibility of our gas turbines;
2. Develop performance datasets for design and guarantee purposes and support our tendering team on specific project requests;
3. Maintain and further develop our in-house cycle performance toolset;
4. Support project engineering by producing project specific design data and specifications;
5. Specify engine tests and support the test execution;
6. Evaluation of field and test engine measurements to analyse and validate GT performance and operational behaviour;
7. Provide support for on-site engine adjustments.
Requirements
Your profile
8. Degree in mechanical engineering or related fields;
9. University specialization and/or industrial experience in aero-thermal design & engineering of turbo machinery or closely related fields;
10. Experience in gas turbine engineering, performance calculations and modelling;
11. Excellent understanding of gas turbine and combined cycle power plant thermodynamics;
12. Knowledge of programming languages would be an asset;
13. Self-motivated, confident team player with demonstrated excellent analytical and communication skills;
14. Availability to travel to customer sites occasionally (ca. 10% of the time, worldwide);
15. Excellent command of English, German is an advantage, further knowledge of Italian would be an asset.
