Position
Join our turbine development department within our gas turbine business in Baden (AG) and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products.
Your tasks
1. Design energy-efficient and robust secondary air systems for gas turbines combined with an effective sealing system;
2. Develop secondary air system design to facilitate flexible gas turbine operation with high load gradients, maximized emission compliant load ranges and hydrogen combustion, suitable for today’s multiple energy sources power markets in transition;
3. Aerodynamic flow path design of the secondary air system from compressor extraction to turbine blade feeds;
4. Design of secondary air system components with advanced methods like CFD and network analysis;
5. Manage interfaces to components as compressor, turbine and GT structural parts;
6. Specify component tests and evaluate the test data;
7. Prepare, support and lead secondary air system activities during validation test campaigns at out test bed and in the field;
8. Create and optimize numerical models using in-house and commercial tools;
9. Support the development of tools and methods for task automation and fast data processing;
10. Select and qualify numerical solvers, design graphical user interfaces and implement algorithms.
Requirements
Your profile
11. Degree in mechanical engineering or related fields;
12. Preferably 5 years of university specialization and/or industrial experience in aero-thermal design & engineering of turbo machinery or closely related fields;
13. Experience in numerical modeling of complex systems in an industrial context;
14. Knowledge of ANSYS FLUENT, skills in CAD and programming languages would be an asset;
15. Self-motivated, confident team player with demonstrated excellent analytical and communication skills;
16. Available to travel up to 15% of the time, globally;
17. Excellent command of English, German is an advantage, further knowledge of Italian would be an asset.
