Accurate tracking and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data are essential to our company's ability to manage carbon across the business, track and ensure compliance with climate commitments, meet external reporting requirements and respond accurately to climate regulations and associated taxes.
The Role
* We are seeking a Carbon Reporting Specialist to support our internal and external GHG emissions reporting needs.
* This role will involve working in a highly diverse international environment with opportunities to contribute to implementing and maintaining consistent, robust and verifiable reporting of Group GHG emissions in compliance with our climate strategy and regulatory requirements.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
* Gathering Insights: Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in capturing emissions data across our diverse portfolio of industrial assets.
* Data Standardization: Support the development and implementation of standardized and coherent processes for emissions data collection, validation and reporting.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with industrial and marketing teams to ensure consistency in emissions data reporting and the avoidance of double counting of emissions across the Glencore Group.
* Internal Assurance: Support internal and external assurance processes, including conducting materiality assessments and coordinating industrial asset emissions data evidence collection.
* Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on applicable voluntary and mandatory reporting standards, best practices and industry guidance related to emissions reporting. Ensure compliance with reporting requirements from a globally diversified natural resource company's perspective.
* Data Governance: Support the development of a GHG emissions reporting knowledge base, that enables robust, consistent and verifiable GHG emissions data collection, calculation and reporting practices across the Glencore Group, primarily where it relates to industrial emissions data.
* Additional Support: Provide additional support to the reporting, systems and assurance teams as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in a science, sustainability, economics, engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Work Experience: 2-5 years' work experience in an analytical role.
* Technical Skills: Knowledge of the GHG Protocol, the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and international sustainability reporting standards and guidance (CSRD, ISSB, ICMM, etc.).
* Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical skills with the ability to analyze large datasets, interpret complex information, and provide actionable insights.
* Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
* Languages: Proficiency in English (spoken and written). Swiss citizen, Swiss B/C permit or EU passport holder.
