About AICA:
AICA was founded in Lausanne, Switzerland in 2019 as a spinoff of the Learning Algorithms and Systems Laboratory (LASA) at EPFL. Now based at the Unlimitrust Campus by SICPA, AICA develops state-of-the-art software designed to simplify robot integration and programming across diverse hardware. Our software, the AICA System and AICA Studio, enables more capable and flexible robotic systems.
On-site, 3-6 months, start date: March 2026
Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge robotics? Do you want to work on real-world projects in an innovative team to develop and deploy advanced robotic applications? AICA is offering a robotics engineering internship to a passionate, self-driven and problem solving individual with strong software skills and prior theoretical and/or practical experience in robotics.
Your role:
* Assist in the programming and testing of robotic systems and applications
* Work with hardware components, including robot arms, grippers, sensors and other industrial peripherals
* Collaborate with engineers on troubleshooting and problem-solving software and hardware integration
* Research, propose, and prototype new features and functionalities for AICA System
Requirements
* Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation or a related field
* Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and programming in Python and/or C++
* Good written and verbal communication skills in English
* Well-organized, independent and self-motivated person able to collaborate within a team
* Strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving
Any of the following is a bonus
* Previous experience with mobile robots
* Familiarity with advanced robot control systems
* Previous experience working with GitHub, Docker
* Familiarity with CAD for rapid prototyping and basic mechanical design
