The opportunity
As “R&D Electrical Engineer – Power Electronics”, you will join the Central Europe Technology Center for Transformers, an organization leading research and development activities on Traction Transformers (TT) and Next-Generation Transformers. Your role will focus on Power Electronics projects as Design control and simulation engineer.

How you’ll make an impact
1. Control System Design: Design control algorithms and systems to manage and regulate the behavior of PE converter. This involves creating models that predict system behavior and developing control strategies to achieve desired performance
2. Simulations: Use simulation tools to model and analyze the performance of PE systems
3. Modeling: Develop averaged modeling of PE converter to understand and predict their behavior. Use small signal analysis and modeling PE technique
4. System integration: Integrate PE systems with hardware and software platforms, ensuring seamless operation and communication between different components
5. Validation and verification: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of PE systems to ensure they meet performance standards and safety requirements. This includes hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and real-time testing
6. Optimization: Optimize control algorithms and system performance to improve efficiency, reliability, and robustness
7. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, such as mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to develop comprehensive solutions
Your background
8. PhD / MSc education in electrical engineering
9. Good knowledge of general PE converter topologies (DC/DC, AC/DC, DC/AC), operation principles and electric design - Existing work experience in the field of MV converter testing
10. Strong knowledge of grid connected converter topologies and control
11. Advanced knowledge in electric circuit simulation tool (MATLAB Simulink, PLECS, LT spice), and in modeling simulation / automation (coding) languages (MATLAB, Python)
12. PCB design knowledge (Altium, KiCad or similar)
13. Ability to integrate control systems with hardware and software platforms
