What is the Opportunity?
As an IT Systems Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the seamless operation of the organisation's end-user devices, software, and core systems. This role focuses on troubleshooting technical challenges, restoring service swiftly, and supporting the deployment and documentation of IT infrastructure. You will respond to tickets and direct requests, participate in IT projects, and drive process improvement initiatives that enhance organisational productivity.
This position is based in Witterswil, Solothurn (Basel Area), Switzerland, with excellent public transport access (tram) and free on-site parking.
What is the Role
* Install, configure, and upgrade software and hardware, ensuring compatibility and security across the organisation's technology environment.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues with devices, operating systems, and core applications through multiple support channels, including ticketing system, phone, email, and in-person contact.
* Repair or replace faulty hardware, facilitate secure data transfers, and manage user data migrations with a focus on security and minimal disruption.
* Provide first-line technical support to users, deliver training on systems and security best practices, and promote digital literacy across the organisation.
* Diagnose and resolve network and infrastructure issues; escalate complex problems appropriately to ensure rapid resolution.
* Maintain precise asset records, assist with IT audits, and support procurement processes for hardware and software.
* Contribute actively to technology rollouts, assist in the implementation of new systems, and participate in process improvement initiatives.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation, ensure compliance with IT policies, and uphold high standards of service.
* Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as delegated by IT leadership.
Does this sound like you?
* High school diploma (IT degree preferred)
* Hands-on experience with hardware, software, and troubleshooting
* Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office Suite
* Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune
* Certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals) are a plus
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective user interaction and documentation
* Customer-focused mentality, adaptable to independent or team-based work environments
* Strong problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail
* Fluent in English; German / French a plus
* Swiss / EU citizenship or valid Swiss C permit
* Willingness to travel occasionally and support outside regular hours
