The Business Applications Group is closely aligned with the business teams and responsible for the key applications to administer, monitor, and analyze Partners Group’s business processes through the investment value chain. We take care of the availability, development, customization, and ongoing enhancement of these applications to support the global business operations of Partners Group.
We are now looking to add a Data Engineer to our team, based in Zug.
You will have the following responsibilities:
* Design
* Analyze relevant internally and externally sourced data (raw data) to generate BI and Advanced Analytics datasets based on stakeholder requirements.
* Design data pipelines to curate sourced data into the in-house data warehouse.
* Design data marts to facilitate dataset consumption by business and IT stakeholders.
* Design data model changes aligning with data warehouse standards.
* Define migration activities to move data from existing databases to the data warehouse.
* Perform housekeeping of raw data and stored data.
* Build and maintain data pipelines and platforms.
* Create data solution prototypes.
* Enhance data quality and reliability.
* Identify opportunities to acquire better raw data.
* Develop analytical tools to support BI and Data Analytics activities.
* Execute data migration processes.
* Promote data engineering standards and best practices.
What we expect
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
* 4+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles, preferably in finance.
* Understanding of Agile frameworks like Kanban, SAFe, SCRUM.
* Knowledge of ETL, data warehouse, BI, and Data Analytics concepts.
* Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS RDS and AWS Fargate.
* Proficiency with databases like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MS SQL.
* Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python.
* Experience with data modeling, including DataVault 2.0.
* Practical experience with ETL tools like Talend.
* Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills and team orientation.
Desired:
* Knowledge of big data concepts for structured and unstructured data.
* Certifications such as AWS Data Analytics or Machine Learning Specialty.
* Knowledge of private markets.
