The Role
As the Head of Education Operations and Experiences at Boundless Life, you will oversee the education operations across all locations. You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence in education delivery and providing a consistent experience across locations.
This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer, with a dotted line to the Head of Education. It requires frequent travel, with the need to visit each destination every 3 months (2-3 days each).
What You’ll Do
Team & Operations Management
Travel & On-site: visit each location at least once per quarter to work with local teams
Oversee education teams across all locations, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.
Lead the execution and roll out of all Boundless Education programs (3-month programs, summer, December sessions).
Foster collaboration and communication across teams to enhance performance and teamwork.
Collaborate and work closely with the Head of Learning & Instruction to ensure proper curriculum execution and identify areas for improvement.
Work closely with Sales, Admissions, and Operations for cross-departmental planning.
Maintain consistency in delivering high-quality education across all locations.
Work with the Head of Education Expansion to ensure WASC accreditation requirements are met.
Ensure customer satisfaction, uphold program quality standards, and support strong student achievement across all assigned locations.
Oversee instructional needs, including materials and supplies, addressing concerns in a timely and strategic manner.
Maintain regular communication with ECDs and educators to support effective program implementation and collaboration.
Escalate customer service and program-related issues promptly to the COO for resolution.
Lead the rollout of summer and December program frameworks across destinations, coordinating closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure successful promotion and implementation.
Extracurricular Activities (ECAs) and Field Trips Management
Oversee the creation and management of all ECAs and Field Trips across locations.
Collaborate with the Experience Lead and Curriculum Lead to design and implement high-quality ECA offerings.
Ensure ECAs and Field Trips align with Boundless Life’s educational philosophy and provide meaningful learning experiences.
Monitor and evaluate the success of ECAs and Field Trips, making adjustments as needed based on feedback.
Financial Oversight
Work closely with the COO to create and manage education department budgets for each location to ensure financial responsibility.
Provide input on capital expenditures as needed, in collaboration with the finance team.
Staffing & Recruitment
Work with Education Center Directors (ECDs) to plan staffing for summer and vacation periods.
Develop and maintain a pool of qualified substitutes to ensure continuity in education.
Partner with HR to define hiring criteria, recruit and onboard education staff for all locations in partnership with ECDs.
Support the Head of Curriculum in training and professional development for education staff.
Performance & Accountability
In collaboration with the Head of Curriculum, set and monitor clear KPIs for ECDs and educators and adjust curriculum and professional development based on data insights.
Track key performance metrics such as student progress, staff performance, and parent satisfaction.
Family & Community Engagement
Work closely with the GM to manage family concerns and feedback related to education.
Collaborate with the curriculum team to implement changes based on family and educator feedback.
Problem-Solving & Leadership Development
Assist ECDs in overcoming operational and logistical challenges.
Identify and mentor emerging leaders within the education team.
Promote open communication, trust, and collaboration among local education teams.
Site Support & Crisis Management
Regular travel to locations to support teams and assess on-the-ground needs.
Act as the primary management representative for crisis response, providing hands-on support.
Travel as needed to stabilize and support Boundless Life locations.
Policy & Process Implementation
Ensure adherence to all Boundless Life policies and procedures across locations.
Develop and implement systems to improve efficiency and standardization in education operations.
Vision Reinforcement & Recognition
Within your team, use storytelling and real examples of place-based education to bring the Boundless Education vision to life during training and team engagements.
Success Metrics
Team Operations: 100% of locations executing programs on time and aligned with global standards
Program Delivery: ≥90% on-time completion of planned programs (3-month, summer, December)
Educator Performance: ≥85% of educators meeting/exceeding performance goals based on RACI and rubrics
Parent Satisfaction: ≥90% satisfaction score on post-session surveys across all locations
Student Progress: 85% of students demonstrating progress per established learning benchmarks
ECA Engagement: ≥75% student participation in ECAs across locations
Budget Adherence: 100% of sites operating within approved education budgets
Staff Retention: ≥85% annual educator and ECD retention rate in 12 months
Substitute Coverage: 100% coverage of educator absences with minimal disruption
Crisis Response Readiness: 100% of incidents responded to within 24 hours and documented
Policy Compliance: 100% compliance with internal education policies across locations
Leadership Development: At least 2 high-potential educators identified and mentored per year
About You
You have 10+ years of experience in education management or school operations, with a focus on experiential, place based learning.
You have experience scaling education programs and managing global, multi-location operations.
You excel in fostering a collaborative culture, and driving performance excellence.
You are data-driven and leverage analytics to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
You are highly organized, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
You have strong communication skills and are comfortable working cross-functionally with various teams.
You excel at creating systems that scale and building processes that bring clarity
