The Swiss Ornithological Institute Sempach is a non-profit foundation for ornithology and bird conservation. It monitors the native bird world, researches their way of life and campaigns for the endangered bird world. It cares for injured and orphaned birds and informs and advises the public. The Ornithological Institute employs around 170 people in all parts of the country.At its headquarters in Sempach, the Ornithological Institute operates a care station for wild birds. The dedicated team in the bird care department looks after more than 1,400 birds every year. This includes the rearing of young birds as well as the care of injured and weakened birds.Become part of our dedicated team. * Care and cleaning of the station :
* Responsibility for feeding the animals according to individual feeding plans.
* Cleaning and disinfecting work equipment, cages and outdoor aviaries.
* Assisting with veterinary treatments :
* Assisting the veterinarians in the care and treatment of the animals.
* Monitoring the well-being of the animals and ensuring their care.
* Assisting with daily tasks :
* Working with animal keepers and interns.
Your profile
* Completed training as an animal keeper, or comparable qualification.- You have already worked with (wild) birds.- You have manual dexterity and good fine motor skills.- You have an ecological and biological understanding of wild animals.- You can keep calm even in hectic situations.- You are prepared to work physically.- You are prepared to work at weekends and on public holidays.- You have a category B driving license (an advantage).
