Flight Data Engineer
ANAVIA specializes in the design, development and manufacturing of vertical takeoff & landing (VTOL) systems of up to 500 kilograms. The company offers industry‑leading unmanned helicopter systems for various mission profiles such as surveillance & reconnaissance, inspection or mapping & cargo.
Responsibilities
Data Collection and Management: Oversee the collection, organization and storage of data generated during UAV operations, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
Data Analysis: Analyse flight data to assess UAV performance, identify trends and uncover insights that inform design improvements and operational strategies.
Reporting: Develop and produce comprehensive reports and visualisations that effectively communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, including flight control, test bench and design engineers, to provide data‑driven insights that guide product development and enhancements.
Tool Development: Create and maintain analytical tools and scripts to automate data processing and analysis tasks, improving efficiency and accuracy.
Validation and Testing: Support flight testing by analysing data to validate performance metrics and identify potential issues or areas for optimisation.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in data analysis techniques and incorporate best practices into workflows.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of significant experience with analysis of large datasets, preferably in aviation or space industry; familiarity with software tools for data processing and fundamentals of flight dynamics.
Skills: Strong knowledge of data science tools (Python, Jupyter, etc.), experience with embedded systems and their communication (CAN, UART, etc.) and fundamental understanding of flight dynamics.
Communication: Very good technical communication skills.
